Ottawa man arrested for trafficking

An investigation into reports that a man wanted in Ottawa was using a downtown hotel room to traffic drugs resulted in the arrest of Robert Hammond 42yrs of Ottawa.

A search of his person located 2 unopened Fentanyl patches, 1 Fentanyl patch with a piece cut out of it, a quantity of cash and a room key.

A search warrant executed on the room located 30 pieces of cut up Fentanyl patches, pieces of tin foil with Fentanyl, 42 grams of marijuana, 46 Percocet pills, scales, empty Fentanyl wrappers and 6.5 grams of cocaine.

He has been charged with 2 counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of marijuana, possession of cocaine, and possession of property obtained by crime.

He has been held in custody for a bail hearing. The North Bay Police Street Crime Unit is investigating.
