OPP warn motorists icy roads are creating dangerous conditions

North Bay OPP is asking motorists to take extreme care in their driving today. Fluctuating temperature and weather conditions have created slippery conditions on local roads. OPP from North Bay are currently responding to five different collisions with at least two being reported as roll-overs, in the Port Loring area. Highways 522 from the Junction of 524 and west, Highway 524 and Highway 534 near the 524 junction have been reported as extremely slippery.

Officers were also busy with the collisions on highway 11 north of North Bay overnight and into this morning.

All investigations are still in the preliminary stages. Ambulance and Volunteer Fire Personnel have been dispatched to assist with the crashes as needed. No information is currently known relating to injuries, if any, resulting from these collisions.

The MTO highway maintenance vehicles are working diligently and in conjunction with the OPP to minimize the impact of these conditions.

Police are asking that motorists take extra care while driving today.
