On Saturday, the 2nd of June 2007, at approximately 17:45hrs, officers from the Hearst Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police were notified of the sudden death of a male at the Notre-Dame Hospital, located in the Town of Hearst.

Michel Pronovost , 56 years of age from Coppell/Hearst was transported to the Notre-Dame Hospital by ambulance and died in Hospital a short time later on June 2nd, 2007.

A police investigation into this death is being conducted by members of the Hearst OPP Detachment and the Northeast Region Criminal Operations Program, under the direction of Detective Inspector Ken Leppert, Criminal Investigation Branch, OPP General headquarters, Orillia,.

A post mortem examination of Michel Pronovost has been scheduled for Monday, the 4th of June 2007 at 10:00 hrs, in Sudbury. Further information will be released at that time.
