North Bay OPP are continuing their investigation into a three-vehicle personal injury collision that took place approximately seven kilometers east of North Bay on Highway 17 shortly after 4:00 p.m. yesterday .

Marlene Thomas, 51, of Rutherglen, was traveling eastbound on Highway 17 in a blue 2001 Chevrolet Cavalier and collided into the rear of a green 2002 Pontiac Grand Am.

The Grand Am, driven by 32-year-old Kimberly Blacker of North Bay, Ontario, was stopped and was about to turn left into a private driveway. The initial collision caused Blacker’s vehicle to cross into the path of a westbound grey 1994 Nissan pickup truck. The Nissan, driven by 27-year-old Richard Kirby of Temiscaming, Quebec, collided head-on with the Grand-Am and eventually rolled over in the north ditch of the highway.

Blacker was transported to North Bay General Hospital via ambulance and was treated for minor injuries. Thomas and Kirby sustained minor injuries as well but did not require ambulance transportation.

Charges are pending, as police are continuing their investigation.
