SUSPECTED POISONING OF PETS

(Mattawa , On)
Mattawa OPP is investigating several incidents involving the possible poisoning of dogs and cats in Mattawa and one incident in the Bonfield area.

Within the last week, pet owners in the Lily and James Street area of Mattawa have been discovering that their dog or cat have been vomiting and/or acting as if under the influence of something. Pets in the area were suffering for several days and as a result, three pet owners had to destroy their dog or cat.

Police are warning residents to keep their pets tied up or leashed at all times. Police are investigating all possible leads and it is not determined whether the pet poisoning in Bonfield is related to the Mattawa incidents.
