LONDON – Senior Command of the Ontario Provincial Police wish to inform members of the media and the public that Provincial Constable Laurie Hawkins was transferred to North Bay General Hospital in North Bay, Ontario.
The transfer occurred around 1:00 p.m. this date (Dec 6th) from Mt. Sinai Hospital in Toronto to the hospital in North Bay. Although Laurie remains in critical condition, this transfer has been facilitated to allow family and friends the opportunity to be with her around the clock.
The family is very appreciative of the outpouring of public support however asks that their privacy be respected during this very trying time in their lives. The family has directed questions about PC Hawkins to be addressed by Sergeant David Rektor at this time.
