OPP: Charges laid against transport operator in fatal Highway 11 four-vehicle collision

TEMISKAMING SHORES, Ont. —  As a result of its investigation, Temiskaming OPP have laid charges against the transport operator involved in a fatal four-vehicle collision last Thursday afternoon

Police responded to the collision on Highway 11 at Highway 65 in the City of Temiskaming Shores shortly before 3:30 p.m. on April 7. The Investigation revealed that a commercial motor vehicle (CMV) was travelling northbound on Highway 11 when it collided with a passenger vehicle at the intersection of Highway 11 and 65 resulting in the death of one person. Another person was sent to the hospital as a result of the collision. The identity of the person who died has not been released pending a post-mortem examination. The impact caused a collision with two other vehicles, according to police.

The CMV driver, Richard Ouellette, a 67-year-old resident of Dorval, Que., is charged with:

  • Dangerous Operation Causing Death
  • Dangerous Operation Causing Bodily Harm

The accused was released by way of an undertaking and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on May 24, 2022 in the City of Temiskaming Shores.
