OPP charge 15 year old with car theft

OPP have arrested and charged two young people after a report of a stolen vehicle.

On March 8, shortly after 10:30 p.m. Nipissing West officers were advised of the theft of a motor vehicle from Sudbury.

In the early morning hours of March 9, police located the vehicle parked on the shoulder of Highway 535, St. Charles, south of Markstay-Warren.

Two young people were arrested.

A 15-year-old-person, from Hanmer, is charged with, theft under $5,000- of a motor vehicle, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, and two counts of failure to comply with an undertaking.

A 16-year-old-person, from St. Charles, was charged with, theft Over $5,000 of a motor vehicle and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.

Both were released and are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in April in Sudbury.

The OPP will not be releasing the name of the accused under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
