The North Bay OPP is investigating the loss of the North Bay Snowmobile Club equipment on one of their trail systems.

On Tuesday February 13th, 2007, the North Bay Snowmobile Club grooming machine was grooming trails eastbound on the Club’s Trail number “308” which is part of the Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Club (O.F.S.C.) trail system north of Redbridge, Ontario. A yellow plywood box containing important grooming equipment fell off the rear of the grooming machine in the area adjacent to Highway 63 passed the Fish Hatchery Road, French Township. The operator of the groom machine located where it fell off the machine on the trail; and the location of where the box slid into the snow down a ditch off the trail. He observed footprints in the snow indicating someone had stopped and removed the box.

Police and the snowmobile club are asking the public’s assistance, especially snowmobile enthusiasts, as to the whereabouts of this equipment.

If you have any information in regards to this incident, please contact Constable Paul Karosas at the North Bay OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or the Near North Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
