We like to think that we represent a mindset of most people in North Bay. Our city is a good place to live, work and play. We also believe that most people believe that things could be better. The key question is how do we get to a place where collectively we can work to make things better?

Over the past four years, negativity has been a common theme presented to city council by the now disbanded taxpayer’s association. While we respect their desire to present what they think is right, their presentations are their perspectives and do not necessarily reflect an understanding of broader issues or the recommendations made by City Hall staff.

As our city looks forward to the next four years and who will be our elected representatives, it is our collective feeling that negativity can no longer be tolerated.

We need people who will listen to both sides of an issue and work with all parties to come up with solutions. We need our city represented by people who will conduct themselves with class, dignity, and respect and will work toward gaining the trust of their fellow councillors, staff and the citizens of North Bay. We need leadership that is based on an open mind, a willingness to listen and the ability to work as a team thus presenting our city as a place that people want to visit, do business with and perhaps live in someday. We need people who will create an atmosphere of interdependency between city council, staff and our citizens and that encourages people to get involved and work cooperatively. Plain and simple, we need to ensure that whomever we elect will have a proven track record that reflects these qualities.

We encourage our citizens to think carefully about how you want to be represented over the next four years.

There is huge potential in the future of our city. The leadership we elect will determine how we will reach that potential.
