Oh Canada Day organizers are applying the finishing touches to the ‘2006 Canada Day’ celebrations set to go Saturday, July 1, at the North Bay Waterfront.
Oh Canada Day organizers are applying the finishing touches to the ‘2006 Canada Day’ celebrations set to go Saturday, July 1, at the North Bay Waterfront.

Last year the celebrations were hampered by bad weather that eventually led to the cancellation of the fireworks, but and organizers are crossing their fingers that the weather will hold up.

Once again the format will move away from the traditional parade along Main Street, moving towards fun for the whole family.

The line up of events:

8:00 a.m. Road Race Registration - ACT Shelter
9:00 a.m. Canada Day Road Race (5 & 10km)

12:00 p.m. Dignitary Speeches - ACT Shelter
ACT/Clarion Birthday Cake Cutting - ACT Shelter
Regatta Registration

12:00 p.m. – 4:00p.m
KIDSPORT Activities ($1.00/child Min. donation)– Rotary Shelter
Face Painting ($1.00/Child) – Rotary Shelter
Heritage Train & Carousel $1.00/ride

1:00 p.m. Regatta Commences – North Bay Waterfront

8:00 p.m. Rotary Club Movie In the Park – Kiwanis Bandshell “CURIOUS GEORGE”

8:30 p.m. Fox Rocks the Boat Fireworks Cruise with DJ 494-8167 for tickets, $17 each - Chief Commanda II
10:00 p.m. Fireworks Finale

The fireworks finale for 2006 promise to be quite the spectacular event in the sky as the funds from last year are to be applied to this year’s purse.
