Northern Ontario Party seeking candidates

The Northern Ontario Party plans a leadership tour across the North, with several information sessions being hosted by the riding associations.

The party will finish filling vacant executive board positions through an election process that will occur by mid- September says a NOP news release.

"During the month of September, the NOP is putting out the call for all prospects who want to entertain the opportunity to run as a party candidate in next year’s election. The party is taking on this undertaking now as we have big plans that will be occurring in the near future and we would like to have all key members in place to see these plans come to fruition."

Leader Trevor Holliday says the party needs people who love the north, and who will represent and are committed to ensuring they are for their constituents and Northern Ontario first and foremost.

The Ridings, the NOP are actively searching for candidates are:

  • Kenora – Rainy River ,
  • Kiiwetinoong,
  • Mushkegowuk,
  • Nickel Belt,
  • Parry Sound – Muskoka,
  • Sault Ste. Marie,
  • Sudbury,
  • Thunder Bay – Atikokan ,
  • Thunder Bay – Superior North and  
  • Timmins.
