Discovery North Bay Museum is announcing the opening of “North Bay’s Victorian Order of Nurses” this Friday at 3 p.m.

2017 marks the 120th Anniversary of the Victorian Order of Nurses (VON).

Museum staff worked with the VON, who donated their historical archives to the museum, to create a historical exhibit that outlines the role the Victorian Order of Nurses played in North Bay says a news release from the museum.

The exhibit includes uniforms, tools, scrapbooks, and photos connected to the history of the VON in North Bay. Visitors can also try their hand at “Spinach” a game produced by the VON to help nurses teach their patients about nutrition and healthy living.

The museum and the Victorian Order of Nurses will hold a public reception for “North Bay’s Victorian Order of Nurses" Friday at 3 pm.
