North Bay businesswoman, Tammy Morison, has been named Executive of the Year by the Influential Women of Northern Ontario Awards program.
Morison is the President and CEO of the North Bay Regional Health Centre Foundation and was feted yesterday in Sudbury at a luncheon.
“It is humbling to receive this prestigious award and celebrate the accomplishments of women," Morison told BayToday. "I feel so lucky to have found a career that I love and that also improves the lives of others. I am fortunate to be mentored by strong women and have the support and leadership of my board, volunteers, and family.”
As CEO of the Foundation, Morison leads a team of six staff and more than 100 volunteers who are passionate about raising funds for programming and medical equipment to serve their communities.
For more than two decades, the Influential Women of Northern Ontario Awards program has recognized the extraordinary accomplishments of women.
This year 13 women from communities across the north were celebrated.
The IW program was launched in 1997 as a way to seek out, profile and honour women who are making a difference in their communities and contributing to the region’s economic success. Over 300 accomplished women have been recognized since the program’s inception.
“The quantity and quality of nominations continue to create a difficult task for our judges,” says Northern Ontario Business Publisher, Abbas Homayed. “The accomplishments of this year’s winners are truly remarkable. We congratulate all the winners for 2018”.
Northern Ontario Business extends is gratitude to co- presenter Goldcorp, Gold sponsor Union Gas, the judges and award sponsors. The winner’s profiles and photos have been posted on the IW website at InfluentialWomen.ca
