North Bay to host road safety conference

North Bay will be hosting the Road Safety Educators’ Association Annual Conference and Workshop Sept. 22 and 23.

It will be held at the Inn on The Bay.

The Road Safety Educators' Association is a federally incorporated non-profit professional association designed for the individual road safety educator.

It's made up of a group of professional educators who have chosen a career in the field of road safety whether it is working with new or novice drivers, training or upgrading commercial vehicle operators, working with seniors, rehabilitating drivers who are recovering from crash traumas, or helping children use the road safely.

RSEA membership includes instructors and trainers for drivers/riders and operators of any type of vehicle (motorized or not), and or individuals working within community safety educational initiatives.

RSEA is open to everyone who is involved in educating the public about the safe use of our roads.

Delegates for this two day conference will be coming from as far as Prince Edward Island to Washington State to participate in this year’s workshop, Driving with Cell Phones, Conversation and Coffee; Inattention and Distractability, presented by Sue MacNeil, a respected member of the traffic safety community.

During the conference, delegates will hear from speakers on a variety of topics such as The Driver Competency Assessment as a Tool for Designing Training Programs to Driving Therapy from the Client’s Point of View.

This conference and workshop are open to all members of the public who wish to attend.
