North Bay not in top 10

This bone-rattling, tire swallowing pothole on Lakeshore Drive this spring failed to propel the heavily used street into the top 10. Photo by Jeff Turl. Nope, we didn't make the top 10. But that's a good thing in this contest.

Timmins has the worst roads in Ontario taking the two top spots and three of the 10. Our friends over in Sudbury took #4

The online campaign was organized by the Canadian Automobile Association as part of the organization's fifth annual Worst Roads effort to find – and fix – the worst offenders.

The 2015 campaign saw a 26 per cent increase in votes from last year, according to The Weather Network. Potholes and crumbling roads were what 90 per cent of participants said was the reason why they voted.

The goal, according to CAA, is to "raise awareness of the need for repaired and improved roads in our communities."

Here's the 2015 list of the worst roads in Ontario:

1. Algonquin Blvd. W., Timmins

2. Algonquin Blvd. E., Timmins

3. Dufferin Street, Toronto

4. Highway 144, Greater Sudbury

5. Carling Ave., Ottawa

6. Radical Rd., Port Dover

7. Burlington St. E., Hamilton

8. Riverside Dr., Timmins

9. Dominion Rd., Fort Erie

10. Bayview Ave., Toronto
