North Bay came up a few hundred short of hitting a world record on Armed Forces Day.

The City of North Bay announced that North Bay was unsuccessful in its attempt to break a world record for the largest human maple leaf yesterday during Armed Forces Day.

North Bay was aiming to beat the 2019 record set by Trenton of 3,942 people during Canada Day festivities.

The City came close, but in the end, its total gathering of approximately 3,700 people fell short by just over 240.

Event organizers say they have learned some good lessons on how to run an activity of this nature are confident North Bay can easily break the record during its next attempt.

North Bay hosted its first Armed Forces Day event since 2019.
