North Bay man wins $100,000

The married father of two plans on paying off some bills and then saving the rest of his windfall

Andre Drolet of North Bay won $100,000 with ENCORE (September 5, 2018 LOTTO 6/49 draw).

He matched the last six of seven ENCORE numbers in exact order to win the $100,000 prize. He also won $10 on another LOTTO 6/49 selection, bringing the total amount of his winnings to $100,010.

"I enjoy playing LOTTO 6/49, ONTARIO 49, LOTTARIO and LOTTO MAX. I always play ENCORE," said Drolet, while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up his winnings. "I've never won big before!"

The 75-year-old retiree was checking his ticket with a retailer when he realized he won. "The machine shut down and OLG called the store," he said. "I couldn't believe it!"

The married father of two plans on paying off some bills and then saving the rest of his windfall.

"It's a wonderful feeling. This win opens up a whole slew of possibilities," he smiled. 

The winning ticket was purchased at Pharmasave on Trout Lake Road in North Bay.
