Former North Bay resident Aaron Helferty, who moved to Edmonton a week ago for work, had half his nose bitten off in a bizarre attack in a bar on Sunday.

The Edmonton Sun reports that the 31-year-old married father of three was out with his brother Patrick watching a hockey game and celebrating the move to the city when, out of the blue, a guy lunged at him and latched onto his nose.

Helferty is now facing several reconstructive surgeries and is uncertain if he is able to start his new job.
