A 30-year-old North Bay man is facing indecent act and harassment charges relating to a complaint from three females back on the afternoon of July 24 in downtown North Bay.

It is alleged that afternoon the three adult female victims parked their vehicles in a parking lot on McIntyre Street West in North Bay.

Police say the victims exited their vehicles and were walking around socializing.

It is alleged that the accused began following them and staring at them even as they changed locations to avoid him.

Due to a level of concern, police say they returned to their vehicles and that's when things escalated.

"The accused approached starting saying something to them as he put his hands down the front of his pants and appeared to be fondling his genitals," the city police release stated.

The victims left the area in their vehicles and reported the matter to police.

Sandus Kataquapit, age 30, of North Bay is charged with:

  • One count of Indecent Act
  • Three counts of Harassment

The police investigation revealed the identity of the accused and he was arrested on July 28. He remains in custody pending a bail hearing.
