North Bay residents will soon be able to wander through tables of locally produced bedding plants, vegetables and unique handmade goods which will be for sale. The 2011 season begins Saturday May 21st, with more than 30 LOCAL vendors. Many of your favourites are returning but come out and see who and what’s new at the Market!

Beginning May 21st, the Farmers’ Market, in its ninth year, will be open every Saturday 8:30am to 1:00pm – RAIN or SHINE through to Thanksgiving weekend in October. Once again the Market will be located in the McIntyre St. Parking Lot #11 – across from City Hall (behind TD CanadaTrust on Main St.). There is NO CHARGE to attend the Market and there is often live entertainment. Plus you never know who you’ll bump into that you haven’t seen in ages!

Many exciting things are happening at the Farmers’ Market this year including the 3rd Annual PANCAKE FESTIVAL which will take place May 28th. Dave, of Matthews Maple Syrup located in Powassan will be FLIPPIN’ again! Join Dave & family from 9:00am to 12:00pm as he cooks up these scrumptious treats and enjoy a great breakfast (or lunch!). Large, fluffy and delicious-- pancakes will be sold for $1.50 each and can be enjoyed with a golden brown waterfall of fresh, local Matthews’ maple syrup. Proceeds from the Pancake Festival go towards supporting the North Bay Farmers’ Market, a non-profit organization.
