There are no new forest fires to report Saturday.
In a news release, Aviation Forest Fire and Emergency Services says there are 33 active fires in the region as of late afternoon. Of those, two are under control and 31 are being observed.
The fire hazard is mainly moderate to low across the Northeast.

Northeast Region
- There are no new forest fires confirmed the late afternoon of September 16th.
- At the time of this update there are 33 active fires in the Northeast Region. Among those fires, 2 are under control and 31 are being observed.
- The wildland fire hazard is mainly moderate to low across the Northeast.

When waterbombers approach a body of water, move close to the shore so they can perform their scoop safely. A waterbomber will not scoop from a lake or river if encroaching watercraft pose a safety hazard. Be safe, stay clear of waterbombers.

To report a wildland fire located north of the French and Mattawa rivers, please dial 310-FIRE. To report a forest fire located south of the French or Mattawa rivers, please dial 911.
