No new fires overnight

East Fire Region situation update for August 5th.

- No new fires in the region yesterday

There is currently one active fire in the East Fire Region. Parry Sound 7, caused by lightning, is 1.1 hectares in size and under control.

The forest fire hazard in the East Fire Region is low to moderate.

Always use caution with all outdoor fires and follow safe burning guidelines. While camping this long weekend enjoy your campfire but always remember to choose a safe site, keep your fire small and never leave it unattended. Ensure the fire is put dead out before leaving the site. If you live in a Municipality, check local bylaws for any burning restrict ions that may apply.
