Vladan Bozic, a graduate of Nipissing University’s Computer Science and Math program, received an award recently at the 11th Annual Conference on Innovation and Technology in Computer Science Education held at the Universita di Bolonga in Italy. The conference was organized by the Association of Computing Machinery. Bozic was awarded a Best Student Poster for his research on the application of the theory of computation, specifically, his work focused on the application of finite set automata to the Bakery Algorithm in critical section modeling.

“The conference committee was very impressed with the high quality content and format of Vlad’s research,” said Nipissing Computer Science professor, Dr. Boguslaw Schreyer, who accompanied Bozic to the conference in Bologna.” “As well, they recognized and applauded the excellent collaboration that exists between students and faculty at Nipissing as well as the valuable undergraduate research that our students are able to accomplish.”

Bozic's poster is being published in the Conference Proceedings. The poster admittance rate was 40 per cent. Currently, Bozic is studying for his master degree in Mathematics at the University of Ottawa.
