Nipissing First Nation to host welcome babies celebration Saturday

NIPISSING FIRST NATION – In the spring, it is tradition to honour the gift of life. On Saturday April 30, Nipissing First Nation will be hosting its 11th Annual Welcoming Babies Community Celebration. This annual community celebration will honour all the babies born in 2011. The event will include traditional teachings of the ‘Welcoming Ceremony’, honouring our “Little Spirits”, recongntion and giveaway.

A potluck feast will take place and all are welcomed to attend. The event is scheduled to take place at the Nipissing First Nation Community Centre in Garden Village from 10AM – 2PM.

This event is held annually with the support and partnership of many community partners from Health Services, Native Child Welfare, Cradle to Learning and guided by traditional resource persons.
