Tickets for the Near North Palliative Care Network's second 50/50 raffle are now available.

The Near North Palliative Care Network (NNPCN) is ecstatic with the support the organization received through its inaugural 50/50 raffle and hopes to carry that community engagement and excitement through to its annual Butterfly Release event.

NNPCN recently announced Simona Peterson of Powassan as the lucky winner of $3,790 in the inaugural 50/50 raffle.

The second 50/50 raffle is now open and will continue until July 8, when NNPCN will draw the winner at its 14th Annual Butterfly Release. There will also be an early bird draw on June 1.

Throughout the pandemic, the services delivered by the Near North Palliative Care Network have continued to rise. Last year, the organization served over 5,900 clients and is on pace this year to surpass that number again.

The Near North Palliative Care Network is the HPCO Accredited visiting hospice for the Nipissing-Parry Sound region. The NNPCN has provided the community with free palliative, caregiving respite, and bereavement services for the last 35 years. The organization trains volunteers to assist palliative clients in their own homes, preventing them from having to leave the comfort of their beds and allowing their caregiver respite. Grief counselling and psychosocial support educate and heal those with complex grief or who might be expecting to mourn. With support, NNPCN hopes to assist and prepare the public to care for the vulnerable sector.
