"A friend called me today who had seen an item about my health written by Kate Adams. The information came from my wife Martha via e-mail," he writes.
Novak also says the information was meant in confidence and not for the site and its readers.
"Martha had had an extremely emotional day dealing with nurses and doctors and my care."
"I was having a few bad days, but in reality, my constitution is strong, my vitals are stable and I have no intention of passing away in the next few days," he states.
"And I appreciate all the concern expressed by my readers, but I want them to know that I'm alright and not on death's door. I am a real fighter and don't take no for an answer!"
