A new family wellness centre is opening here in North Bay.
Nurturing Hands Family Wellness Centre first began as a partnership between two Doulas, and now has blossomed into a wellness centre dedicated to supporting families at all stages of their birthing journey.
As a not-for-profit agency, Nurturing Hands Family Wellness (NHFW) aims to provide certified Doula support to families from preconception, through labor and birth, postpartum and the formative years. Support is offered through classes, home visits, and telephone/ text.
A Doula is a trained professional who provides continuous physical, emotional, and informational support to a birthing person before, during and shortly after childbirth to help achieve the healthiest, most satisfying experience possible.
“This agency has been a dream in the making for a long time and we are so grateful to all of the families who have trusted us with their birth journeys over the years," said Lesley Taylor, the Executive Director of Nurturing Hands Family Wellness.
"We plan to continue doing everything within our means to improve care and wellbeing of every family that comes through our doors."
