New Commander for the North Bay OPP Detachment

Staff Sergeant Bill McMullen is the new Commander of the North Bay OPP Detachment.  

McMullen began his career with the North Bay Police Service in December 2000. 

In March 2006, Staff Sergeant McMullen joined the OPP and worked at the Oxford County Detachment. In 2008, he became a Detective Constable, where he had the opportunity to work in a specialized crime unit. In April 2010, he transferred to the Almaguin Highlands Detachment.  

In September 2012, Staff Sergeant McMullen was promoted to the rank of Sergeant. He has completed several temporary assignments in various roles including Area Crime Sergeant, Regional Abuse Issues Coordinator, Staff Sergeant of Business and Planning for NER, and Detachment Commander of the North Bay Detachment.  

In May 2019, Staff Sergeant McMullen was promoted to Staff Sergeant, Detachment Commander of the North Bay Detachment. 

McMullen continues to be an active volunteer within the surrounding community and during this past hockey season coached three different teams at various levels.

I look forward to working with our community leaders and stakeholders as we aim to enhance safety and services to those we serve. I am proud and appreciative for the opportunity to work with such dedicated and professional members with the unified goal of providing excellent service in our area. My focus will be to provide investigative excellence, improve traffic safety, and identify more effective and efficient means to better serve our communities."
