New cannabis store open in North Bay

'We have created a fresh perspective to retail cannabis where the guest experience is paramount'

Cannabis Jacks, which calls itself Northern Ontario's fastest-growing cannabis retail store chain, announced it has opened a store in North Bay.

The location is 1881 Cassells Street.

The company is also opening new stores in Val Caron and Timmins.

"Cannabis Jacks has created a unique, proven low-cost scalable retail licensing model that can easily adapt to any market and need," says a news release.

Michael Birch, Cannabis Jacks CEO, said, "We have created a fresh perspective to retail cannabis where the guest experience is paramount, allowing for access to quality cannabis and accessories. We are always looking for great Licensed Partners and Investors across Canada who have a shared vision of normalizing the cannabis retail experience."

There are three things that set Cannabis Jacks apart from others in the market, Birch told BayToday.

"We offer a simple curated product selection geared to exceed the local consumer's needs. Orders are not done at some head office by someone that does not know the consumers. All product is ordered locally by the local General Manager."

Birch says his company also sees consumer education as a priority.

"Education is one of the pillars of Cannabis Jacks," he explained. "Jacks U is designed to help educate both new and well-travelled guests on the various different products available.

"The guest experience is paramount. Cannabis Jacks stores are simple and elegant with all product information digitized so that it is an easy and enjoyable shopping experience."

Cannabis Jacks is open for click and collect from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily. You can order online here or call 705-223-5255. In-store shopping is expected when the Province allows it on June 14.

"We saw a real opportunity to partner with a great brand like Cannabis Jacks," added John Shelegey, Cannabis Jacks Licensee. "The low-cost licensed retail model is simple and efficient while providing a fantastic guest experience."

The company is expected to open at least four more northern Ontario locations in 2021.
