Near North District School Board

The Near North District School Board is currently engaged in a process that will assist us to continue to be both effective and efficient in carrying out our strategic planning responsibilities, which are:

• to focus on student success,

• to ensure all members of the organization are working toward common goals, and

• to assess and adjust the organization's direction in response to the changing environment.

The Near North District School Board strategic planning process, which began in June 2008, has two stages. This will ensure that there is a high degree of consultation and that the process is fully inclusive. Stage One of the process was to survey parents/guardians and employees on their current level of satisfaction in various categories as well as asking for input on priorities for the strategic plan. That stage has now been completed and summarized. Stage Two of the strategic planning process is the focus group sessions. The Board looks forward to sharing its Strategic Plan by September 2009.

Focus group sessions will be held in each of the three regions of the board and will be facilitated by one of the trustees. On the day of each region's focus group session, two times are scheduled: one for employees and the other for parents, students and community members.

It is important that this process reflect extensive consultation and we encourage all parents, students, staff and members of the community to join us at one of the following sessions:
