The North Bay-Mattawa Conservation Authority (NBMCA) is celebrating 35 years in the community with the official launch of a new website and an online ballot to win a gift basket of environmentally friendly cleaning products. The website, located at www.nbmca.on.ca, was created with the assistance of Results Media and contains numerous enhancements such as downloadable applications, real time flood warning alerts and upcoming event listings.

“Since 1972, we have been actively balancing the human, economic and environmental needs of the region through a variety of programs and services,” explains Brian Tayler, General Manager, NBMCA. “The NBMCA’s 35th anniversary seemed an ideal time to focus on better communicating those programs and services to the community.”

Overall, the website has been enhanced with additional information, resources and downloads to ensure the website’s visitors can access the information they require. Contractors and home builders can now go online to obtain information and download septic and development permits, while parents and educators can be kept up to date on programs and day camps offered at the NBMCA. For outdoor enthusiasts, the new website also features an enhanced map of the NBMCA’s 15 conservation areas and the amenities available at each site.

Until July 30, 2007, online visitors to www.nbmca.on.ca can also download a ballot for a gift basket featuring Nature Clean’s environmentally friendly household cleaning products. The basket is valued at $150.00.

The North Bay-Mattawa Conservation Authority (NBMCA) was founded in 1972 by the Province of Ontario and the NBMCA’s 10 member municipalities. A non-profit organisation, the NBMCA works closely with the public to ensure the environmental health of the region’s watershed. The NBMCA is one of 36 Conservation Authorities who are members of Conservation Ontario.
