Commanda Township – North Bay OPP, members of the Technical Traffic Collision Investigation (TTCI), North Bay General Ambulance responded to a serious motor vehicle collision which occurred on Sunday, September 7th, 2008 shortly after 4 p.m.
A Dodge Caravan travelling eastbound crossed the centre line colliding with a westbound Ford F350 with tri-axle trailer. The driver of the F350 attempted to take evasive action in an attempt to avoid the collision and remains in critical life threatening condition at the North Bay General Hospital.
The driver of the Dodge Caravan, André TAILLEFER, 64 years old, of Sturgeon Falls succumbed to his injuries. The three passengers were treated for minor injuries at the North Bay General Hospital and later released.
Investigation is still ongoing.
