Montana's to open in North Bay?

A number of sources have told BayToday.ca that Montana's Cookhouse restaurant will be calling North Bay home within the next couple months.

The sources say Montana's will move into the current home of Kelsey's restaurant located on Algonquin Avenue next to the Harvey's and Swiss Chalet restaurant.

BayToday.ca contacted the North Bay Kelsey's restaurant in hopes of confirming the rumour but Kelsey's North Bay management answered with a "no comment."

Montana's, which has a restaurant on the east side of Sudbury, denied the claim.

"Unfortunately we are unaware at this time if there is a Montana's opening in North Bay," Montana's Guest Services stated in an email to BayToday.ca.

Our sources say the Kelsey's restaurant is expected to close for renovations in July and re-open in the fall as Montana's.

Montana's restaurants are known for their ribs, steaks, rotisserie chicken and other lodge fare. The restaurant aims to be a family/casual concept, rather than fine dining.

Kelsey's and Montana's restaurants are both owned by Cara Operations, which is a Canadian company based out of Vaughan, Ontario.
