Temiskaming Shores - The Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR) North Bay District is asking angler assistance in a tagged fish project.

During the spring of 2006 and 2007, a number of walleye and sauger were tagged and released in the Blanche River in order to learn more about migration patterns.

Anglers can help with this project by providing the MNR with the following information when a tagged fish is caught:

o tag number

o length of the fish

o time, date and location of catch

o angler’s contact information

MNR is asking that this information be forwarded to the ServiceOntario office located at 280 Armstrong Street (College Boreal Building), Temiskaming Shores (705) 647-7391 or by calling Chuck McCrudden, Temagami Area Biologist, at (705) 475-5522.

To reward anglers who take the time to forward this information, MNR will be providing a small token of appreciation as well as information on the origin of the tagged fish.
