NORTH BAY - The Safe and Sober Awareness Committee of Midland Ontario is pleased to announce and provide a public service announcement .

This PSA is the result of an innovative partnership with Canadian rock icon Kim Mitchell and Alert Music Inc.

Kim Mitchell and the Safe and Sober Awareness Committee want to remind people that every choice has a consequence.

If you are driving, no matter what the vehicle, be smart and make the right decision, don’t drink and drive, “Go For Soda”!

Although Ontario has some of the safest roads in North America, this PSA addresses impaired driving on our roadways, waterways and trail systems.  Despite increasing legislated penalties, ongoing enforcement and public education/awareness efforts, lives continue to be lost and families needlessly shattered due to impaired driving incidents.

Again, thanks to Kim Mitchell and Alert Music Inc. for providing permission to use the attached MP3 “Go For Soda” PSA from December, 2013 to December, 2014.  Mitchell’s song was a smash hit in the mid 80’s and is still a staple at Classic Rock radio nationally. Kim remains the number one most listened to DJ in afternoon drive with males in the GTA on Q107 and continue to tour nationally on weekends year round.
