Methadone found after car crash

Early this morning, around at 4:48, Powassan OPP received a call about a single motor vehicle collision on Highway 11 at Highway 522. 

Officers investigated and found the vehicle hit a rock cut causing extensive damage. The driver was taken to the hospital in North Bay by ambulance with non-life threatening injuries. 

While investigating the collision, officers located a quantity of a liquid substance believed to be Methadone.

As a result of the investigation, John Campbell, 66, of North Bay, has been charged with the following:

  • Possess a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking and
  • Careless Driving 

Campbell was released on an Appearance Notice and is scheduled to attend the Ontario Court of Justice on December 5, in North Bay.
