On Saturday, Sept. 23, One Kids Place Children’s Treatment Centre welcomes you to join in a free community event at its location at 400 McKeown Ave.
One Kids Place is hosting Meet a Machine Day, a fun, interactive, hands-on event that will showcase different machines, vehicles and community partners for children and families to discover. Children love the opportunity to touch and explore and the organization is looking forward to helping them interact with so many different and unique vehicles and machines.
Meet a Machine Day will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and OKP will also be hosting a BBQ and children’s activities in the Jack Lyons Playground.
Parking will be available across the street at the MTO building, located at 447 McKeown Ave.
In addition to the community day, OKP will be hosting a Stuck on a Truck fundraiser. Local celebrities and community members will be Stuck on a Truck until they can raise enough donations to be "allowed off." Proceeds from this event will support the One Kids Place Family Support Program, an initiative designed to assist the individual financial demands of our children and families with special needs.
Stuck on a Truck will start at 11 a.m. and the community is encouraged to stop by and say hello to our community champions and help support their favourite to "get off the truck."
