North Bay– The McGuinty government is making it easier for all Ontarians and employers to access labour market services in local communities, MPP Monique Smith, announced today.

“We are very excited that North Bay has been chosen to pilot this great initiative. Through the new No Wrong Door strategy, the Ontario government will direct people to appropriate government or community-based labour market and training services with a one-stop approach,” said Smith.

The strategy ensures employers and individuals can learn about the labour market and training programs and services provided by the Ontario government in person, over the phone or through the Internet. People can access or be referred to the services they need, regardless of which Ontario government office or community-based organization agency they contact initially.

The No Wrong Door pilot projects are being launched in Mississauga, London, Kitchen/Waterloo, Cornwall, and North Bay to develop the best way to implement the strategy. No Wrong Door will be launched province-wide starting this year.

“This program will ensure that people in Nipissing can easily access the information they need to get the training they deserve. By strengthening our people’s skills we are contributing to our province’s growing economy and prosperity,” said Smith.

The No Wrong Door strategy for service delivery is a key feature of Ontario’s planned One-Stop Training and Employment System, a seamless and co-ordinated training and employment service network.
