Mattawishkwia River Bridge reduced to one lane

North Bay — The Ministry of Transportation wishes to advise the motoring public that the Mattawishkwia River Bridge on Highway 11, 2.5 km east of Hearst will be reduced to one-lane of traffic beginning the evening of May 9, 2007.

The bridge is being temporarily reduced to one lane to facilitate a thorough structural inspection. The inspection is expected to take a few days and will involve specialized inspection equipment. The speed limit in the area of the bridge has been reduced to 70 km/h. Drivers are reminded to reduce their speed as they approach the bridge and to obey traffic signals.
