Mattawa man charged with trafficking

A tip to the OPP in Mattawa of a suspicious vehicle Sunday turned out to be spot on.

Officers found the vehicle on Hurdman Street and spoke with the vehicle occupants. An investigation was conducted and police located drugs suspected to be: cannabis, methamphetamine, CDB oil, and cannabis shatter. 

As a result of the investigation, three people have been charged.

Joshua Thibert, 33, of Mattawa, is charged with::

  • Possessing cannabis for the purpose of selling and
  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking.

Two other vehicle occupants were issued Provincial Offence Notices with a fine.

A 30-year-old man from Papineau-Cameron Township was charged with "Have Care or Control of a Vehicle with Cannabis Readily Available" and a 27-year old man from Bonfield was charged with "Unlawful purchase of cannabis."
