Message to Parents, RE: Report Cards.

"We are pleased to let you know that, despite the current labour situation, our Board is working hard to provide students with their final marks by the last day of school.

"Your child’s Term 2 Report Card will include marks only as submitted to the school principal by your child’s teacher. Reports will not include comments; however, you are welcome to contact your child’s teacher during the remaining days of school to discuss your child’s progress and achievement."

In Toronto, public school boards will not send home final report cards for elementary students, but instead will issue a letter confirming each student’s placement for the next school year.

Other Toronto-area schools are planning to do the same thing.

The letter will take the place of a final report card, and show if a student has been retained and must repeat the year, or promoted to the next grade.
