Mapleridge school student chain benefits food bank

This year over 1,000 pounds was collected and delivered

For the 17th year in a row, Mapleridge Public School in Powassan has organized a student chain to aid the local food bank.

The entire school population is involved,

Principal Alison Clarke, students, and teachers line the three blocks from the school to the food bank, and pass the food hand-over-hand.

This year over 1,000 pounds were collected and delivered.

Roads are closed, and traffic comes to a standstill, but the entire community rejoices from this heartwarming initiative, especially at Christmas time.
