What appeared to be a serious collision that resulted in the closure of a stretch of the two northbound lanes of Lakeshore Drive just before 4 p.m. on Wednesday resulted in only minor injuries to one man and no charges laid.
The North Bay Police Service confirms to BayToday a pedestrian using the sidewalk "stumbled into traffic," and was struck by the mirror of a vehicle travelling northbound in the curbside lane in the 200 block of Lakeshore Drive.
Although the pedestrian was transported to the hospital by the District of Nipissing Paramedic Services, the man's injuries were not considered serious.
Traffic detoured around the scene of the collision as NBPS officers conducted their investigation. Lakeshore Drive reopened to traffic fully at approximately 4:30 p.m.
