North Bay Police are investigating a motor vehicle collision that took place early this morning on Lakeshore Drive.
A male driver of an SUV was travelling southbound on the 300 block of Lakeshore Drive at approximately 1:36 a.m. on Friday November 28th. While attempting a left-hand turn onto Marshall Avenue, he struck a light pole. The driver then exited the vehicle and fled the scene.
North Bay Police, who were immediately dispatched to the scene following a 911 call, located the suspect shortly thereafter on Mulligan Avenue. He was arrested and charged with one count of failing to remain at the scene of the accident, one count of impaired operation of a vehicle, and one count of driver over 80 mg. He was released with a court date scheduled for December.
