Man charged with possession of stolen property from same store twice

At 7:36p.m. On the 8th of June Mathew Burbidge 40yrs of No Fixed Address was arrested at 1500 Fisher St in possession of an s slow cooker that was just stolen from a store at Northgate Square.

He was arrested and charged with Possession of stolen property, and breach of probation. He was released with a court date.

On the 9th of June at 7:36p.m. the same man was confronted walking out of the same store with a 40in TV.

He left the TV and fled but was arrested an hour later in a bush area nearby.

Investigation revealed he had also left a restaurant without paying for a meal.

Mathew Burbidge was further charged with theft under $5000, fraudulently obtaining food, breach of undertaking, and breach of probation.

He was held in custody for a bail hearing.
