Man charged with possession and obstruct police

At approximately 1:25am on September 8th, the North Bay Police Service was called to attend a local licensed establishment on Main Street in regards to an unwanted intoxicated patron.

Officers located the male who at falsely identified himself to police as required under the Liquor Licence Act.

A search incident to arrest led to the male being in possession of a small quantity of a substance believed to be marijuana.

The male was later queried with his real identity and found to be on conditions not to possess or purchase a controlled substance.

Nicolas Commanda, 28 yrs, is charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, 2 counts of Breach of Probation and Obstruct Police.

He was held for a bail hearing.
