Man arressted for attempted murder (update)

On Sunday Sept 23,2007 at 917 pm. Emergency personnel responded to the rear of a grocery store on Cassells Street in North Bay.

There they located a 55 yrs old male who received a knife wound to his neck .The victim was rushed to hospital were he underwent emergency surgery.

The North Bay Police Criminal investigation and forensic identification units were called out to this serious incident. The assistance of the Ontario Provincial Police K9 unit was also requested.

Officer’s located the accused hiding under a trailer close to the crime scene. He is identified as a local 56 yrs old male.

Further to report of Attempt Murder reported Sunday Sept 23, 2007,at Cassells Street & North Bay by-pass area;
Police had located a 55-year-old male suffering from knife wounds to his neck at approximately 9:17 pm on Sept 23 behind a local grocery Store on Cassells Street.

The victim underwent emergency surgery and is presently in the Intensive care unit of North Bay General Hospital.

North Bay Police Personnel along with the assistance of the OPP canine unit located 56-year-old male suspect in relation to this incident Ronald Ayotte, of no fixed address is in custody charged with Attempt Murder and is being held for a bail hearing today.

D/Cst. Helen Kent of the North Bay Police Investigative Support Services is continuing her investigation into this incident.
