Lucky winner in Canadian Red Cross Northern Raffle picks up his cheque

Burton Brown of North Bay accepted his $1000.00 cheque from Community Service Coordinator, Melissa Yerlitz at the Red Cross office on Wednesday April 11, 2012.

Burton Brown was one of the five, third place winners in this year's Canadian Red Cross Northern Raffle draw.

Burton purchases tickets every year in support of the Red Cross, and this year reaped an extra benefit of his donating ways.

17,570 tickets were sold in this year's Canadian Red Cross Northern Raffle, the most tickets sold since 2004.

The Canadian Red Cross services Northern communities stretching from North Bay to Thunder Bay and onwards to Kenora and Dryden.

The funds raised from this raffle will go to support community programs like our Seniors' Transportation, Disaster Management, First Aid & RespectEd programs.

The Canadian Red Cross would like to thank everyone who participated in this raffle and helped make it such a success.
