This Saturday will mark the opening of the North Bay Farmers’ Market 14th season.

The festivities will start at 8:30 a.m. - 1 p.m at Parking Lot 10 on Oak and Wyld Street by the North Bay Transit Terminal.

New and exciting changes are happening at the North Bay Farmers’ Market this year, says a news release rom the group.

Along with several new special events and vendors, the market  has a new Board of Directors and Market Manager.

The Market is also kicking off this season with an updated brand, logo and website (coming very soon).

"Our Market has served as an incubator for hundreds of small businesses over the years. We are a venue for socializing where urban residents meet local farmers, producers, crafters, musicians, entertainers, community not-for-profits and their neighbours. We help to revitalize our downtown district with great shopping, special events, local food, education, nutrition and economic security. At the base of all our efforts is a commitment to freshness, quality, local business and community," says Lisa Gibson-Nickle, North Bay Farmers' Market Manager.

"This season we are very excited to introduce the $5 Market Buck which will be used as prizes and giveaways for online contests and at our special events throughout the season."

This season will also feature several ‘Friends of the Market’ contests and prizes. ‘Friends of the Market’ reusable tote bags will be filled with a wide variety of Market promotions, gifts and vouchers including a fridge magnet, button, coupons, $5 Market Buck, gift certificates and much more - valued at $80. The ‘Friends of the Market’ reusable tote bags will be also be available for purchase at $20 or, you can purchase a regular “Love Local” tote bag for $2. 

The North Bay Farmers’ Market runs from May Long Weekend until Thanksgiving, rain or shine, in downtown North Bay. Wednesdays, from 10am-2pm at the Discovery North Bay Museum, on Ferguson & Oak St. and Saturdays from 8:30am-1pm at Parking Lot #10 on Oak and Wyld St.

The Market offers seasonal fruits and vegetables, pasture-raised meat and poultry, local maple syrup and honey products, breads and baked goods, prepared food and popcicles, sauces and preserves, handmade artisan and craft items, live music, balloons, facepainting, raffles, prizes and more.
